Abstract: In this paper we propose some approachs for automating instalation and updating for componetware applications built on top of EDMA, our object-oriented componetware framework (http://wgpi.tsc.uvigo.es/~dyc/EDMASite). Three approaches are introducced for increased component?s avaliability for applications, all three working in an application transparent way. The first and third approaches are running currently for EDMA version 0.3r1.
Abstract: In this short-paper we introduce how to use EDMA?s SIU extension system for building multiplatform application prototypes. SIU subsystem will allow us to develop our applications using components written with interpreted languages such as Java, Guile, Perl, and later substitute those parts of the application with native code.

Abstract: In this communication we propose a simple system for parallelizing processing tasks in the EVA project. This approach uses the object oriented system EDMA and exploits its extension facilities for object distribution across LANs.
Abstract: In this paper we propose a programing environment for developing object-oriented applications within a componetware framework. The system, named EDMA, has exten sion facilities that allow us to add distributed facilities to it. This faciliti es forms the FAYE system that performs Remote Method Invocation on a easy way, without any aditional work that changing some strings. We describe an application that uses this facilities for paralelizing some task of a image vectorizer.
Abstract: Object Oriented Modeling supplies a set of characteristics that makes more easy management of information. Abstraction and encapsulation gives a powerful tool to work with multiformat information like images or text formats. By the other side, componentware supplies a convenient environment for developing applications with only the necessary funcionalities for each situation reducing the resource requirements of the software since components can be loaded dynamically when they are required.
