Real-Time Implementation
VR related optical interfaces require real-time video processing to extract image information usable to feed the VR system and allow user interact with it. Therefore, we need a way for fast implementation and execution of image processing algorithms. To achieve this I had developed a simple Image Based Virtual Machine which will run all the image processing tasks and which can be easely embedded in any application.
This Virtual Machine (named IMGVM) provides a simple and easy framework to integrate image processing facilities within other systems.
HCI and HMI applied Image Processing
The IMGVM introduced above has been used to develop a simple HMI for our VR Simulation prototype. The system was developed as a distributed application and so, the image processing engine and the VR Simulation system can be executed in different machines.Several improves of this system will be carried out in future... I hope so.
Preliminary results can be checked here and here.
