BLOG

Finally I did some more progresses with my picoBlog platform. These are the main changes.

In the last weeks I managed to get some time to add a couple of features to picoBlog. You may had noticed, for instance, the RSS feed at the bottom of the page. Other addition is some pagination code (still very Beta). It is not visible yet... I have to add a couple more posts, but seems to work. Let's see how it behaves in the wild.

Another minor change was to show some more text on posts with a very short abstract. I think it looks better in the main page.

Finally, the last change you should surely notice (otherwise let me know as something when very bad) was the mandatory cookies consent banner. It is a bit funny that, in order to provide this option you actually have to set a cookie :). Anyway, this also seems to work but I haven't tested extensively yet, so if you notice any problem, please send me a note.

Actually, in a sense, multimedia systems are real-time systems with strong timing constraints to fulfill.

Everybody needs somebody and everybody also needs a file server at home. For some years, I was using a Fiono box but it was not really fulfilling my needs. The fan in the box was very noisy and I had to run over maintenance cycles very often.

I had been thinking about knowledge for quite some time now. I believe that, being able to manage it, is really the key point to make a quantum leap on Computer Sciences and I also believe we haven't found yet a proper way to deal with it. No, I haven't solve this problem. I'm not that smart. But I have some ideas to share...

So, here it is. The very first post ever using the picoBlog platform!!!... I feel like I have to shout: IT'S ALIVE!

OK, this is actually a continuation of our blog at Papermint Designs. We are just changing to a new platform. A platform of our own that we had named picoBlog. Nothing really special about it. It is just tiny.

Our previous platform was more than OK, actually it provided a lot more functions that we will ever need, and it a sense, that is a waste. On the other hand, building our own blog platform is a nice exercise to get back in touch with PHP...
