picoFlamingo 0.4.2 Release Candidate 1


We have been working on small improvements on picoFlamingo during the last months. It is not completely ready yet but we think that these updates have to be released. This is a brief summary of what is new in this picoFlamingo release:

- It now builds using autotools
- Basic Texture Manager
- Build-in network capabilities (TCP and BT). NetKitty is no longer needed to run picoFlamingo
- Added slide items groups. Now several items can be grouped together and manipulated at once
- Added special events to image items for easy button implementation (CLICK, ENTER, LEAVE)
- Several minor bug fixes

This latest version can be downloaded from the picoFlamingo Website. Please read the INSTALL file for details on how to build picoFlamingo for different OpenGL ES emulators and platforms.

If you experience any problem or found any bug, we will appreciate any feedback. We are still testing this latest version. It is know to work properly on x86 (32 and 64 bits) and on BeagleBoard using Framebuffer. We still have to test X11 (BeagleBoard and ZoomII) and OMAP4 (pandaboard) frame buffer and X11.

Be free to try it on other platforms (OpenPandora, Raspberry PI)and let us known the results. Any OMAP3/OMAP4 should work after recompilation. It should also work on any major OpenGL ES implementation. In this latest case, update of the default shaders may be required.
